Magnesium Carbonate Light
Magnesium carbonate light is a fine, lightweight powder used as a source of magnesium oxide (MgO) in glazes. It is commonly used to create highly textured crawling or 'lichen' glazes, but can also produce matte and satin surfaces, enhance opacity, and encourage subtle glaze textures. Magnesium carbonate light can also help control glaze viscosity, preventing excessive running in high-fire applications.
