Calcium Chloride

Used as a flocculating agent in glazes to enhance suspension, this substance is favoured by many, due to its superior effectiveness compared to alternatives like Epsom salts and vinegar. It exhibits excellent compatibility with glazes containing bentonite or carbonates. Typically, minor additions (0.1% to 0.3%) to glaze slurries prove adequate for achieving gelling. However, in some instances, higher percentages, even substantially higher, may be necessary. Tip:- Dissolve Calcium Chloride crystals into water 50/50 ratio, label accordingly for adding to glaze as required.
